El paseo a Escocia - Decimo dia/Ride to Scotland - tenth day

Salgo del Holiday Inn de Newcastle. La presion de aire de los cauchos esta un poco baja y es dificil encontrar una estacion de servicio con una boquila que entre en las ruedas de la R100RS, por fin consigo en T.A.M. Tyres en Newcastle, son gente simpatica y me ayudan, luego de lo cual tomo rumbo al sur./Leaving from the Holiday Inn in Newcastle I finda that tyre pressures are a bit low and it is difficult to find a service station with a hose that fits in the R100Rs wheel, finally I find T.A.M Tyres and they help me, afterwards I head south.

Como anuncian mal tiempo desde mañana, tratare de cubrir un maximo de distancia hoy, asi que me paro solo cuando necesario. Primero en Durham a las 10:41, luego en Wentbridge a las 12:51 Hago escala para almorzar en Peterborough a las 14:46 y sigo hacia el puente de Dartford donde hay much trafico./ Since bad weather is expected starting tomorrrow, I will try to cover a maximum of distance today, so I stop only when necessary. First, I stop in Durham at 10:41, then in Wentbrige at 12:51. I stop for lunch in Peterborough at 14:46 and then continue towards the Dartford bridge, where I find a lot of traffic.

Al cruzar el puente de Dartford decido probar suerte con el Eurotunnel. Hago parada breve en el area de descanso de Maidstone a las 17:50 y  despues llego a la estacion donde me cobran el precio de temporada alta para el cruce, 100 EUR, pero es la alternativa mas rapida. Hago la travesia sin problemas, pero al desembarcar en Calais ya esta oscuro, tengo poca gasolina y hay pocas probabilidades de encontrar un hotel, asi que decido seguir lo mas que pueda./After crossing the Dartford, I decide to try my luck with the Eurotunnel. I stop at 17:50 at the Maidstone service area and afterwards arrive at the station where I pay the high-season price, 100 EUR, but it is the fastest alternative. The crossing of the channel is uneventful but upon disembarking in Calais, it is already dark, I am low on fuel and there is a low probability of finding a suitable hotel, so I decide to continue for as long as I can.

Con el tanque en reserva, logro llegar a la estacion de servicio de Saint Eloi, son ya las 22:46, estoy empezando a cansarme pues ya he recorrido mas de 750 Km y me faltan todavia otros 350Km para llegar a Luxemburgo./ Using the fuel reserve I manage to reach the service area of Saint Eloi, it is 22:46 and I am beginning to get tired since I have already covered more than 750Km.. I still have another 350Km in front of me if I want to reach Luxembourg.

Como ahora estoy bastante cansado, me voy parando en cada estacion de servicio a lo largo de la autopista, generalmente para tomar cafe o agua, limpiar la visera del casco y refrescarme los ojos. La ultima parada para combustible la hago en Wanlin, entre Namur y Luxemburgo, a las 01:33 del 26 de agosto que es tecnicamente el undecimo dia del viaje./Since I am by now very tired, I stop at just about every service station along the motorway, generally to drink a coffee or some water, clean the helmet's visor and refresh my eyes a bit. The last fuel stop takes place at Wanlin, between Namur and Luxembourg, at 01:33 on 26 August, which is technically the eleventh day of the trip.
Unos 20Km al sur de Wanlin, encuentro una neblina densa y cerrada que me empaña la visera del casco y los lentes y me obliga a pararme a ciegas en el border de la autopista. Afortunadamente tengo una toalla y logro seguir muy lentamente, limpiando la visera con la mano izquierda cada pocos minutos. Es el tramo mas peligroso del viaje, ya que estoy muy cansado, la visibilidad es casi nula y hay trafico de camiones. Ademas, por supuesto, la carretera esta mojada y estoy solo./Some 20Km south of Wanlin, I hit dense fog that condenses on both the helmet's visor and my glasses and forces me to make a blind stop on the side of the motorway. Fortunately, I have a towel and I manage to proceed slowly, wiping the visor with my left hand every few minutes. This is the most dangerous segment of the trip since I am very tired, visibility is minimal, and there is heavy lorry traffic. Besides, of course, the road is wet and I am alone.
Finalmente, a eso de las 03:00, llego a la casa con solo suficiente energia para descargar la moto, ponerla en el garage y tomar la foto de llegada. El viaje ha sido una experiencia fantastica que ciertamente merece repetirse./Finally, around 03:00, I arrive home with just sufficient energies to unload the motorcycle, park it inside the garage and take the arrival photograph. This ride has been a fantastic experience that surely merits repeating it.
