El paseo a Escocia - cuarto dia/Ride to Scotland - fourth day

19 de agosto. Desayunamos copiosamente el el George y salimos en direccion a Helmsley para entrar en el parque nacional de los Paramos del Norte de York. La carretera es impresionante y divertida, ideal para un paseo en moto./ 19 August. Hearthy berakfast at the George and we leave towards Helmsley to enter the North York Moors National Park. The road is impressive and fun, ideal for a motorcycle ride.

Luego de cruzar los paramos, llegamos a Stokesley; verifico el nivel de aceite del RS y me falta casi un litro. Conseguimos un Halfords pero no tienen el tipo de aceite que necesito. Sin embargo, nos ayudan a localizar otra tienda, no muy distante que si lo tiene. Esta gente definitivamente esta bien entrenada para servir al cliente./After crossing the Moors, we arrive in Stokesley; I check the RS' oil level and find out that it needs almost a litre. We manage to find a Halfords but they don't have the right type of oil. However, they help us locate another store which is not too distant and which has one litre left. Definitely, these people are well trained to help customers.

Llegamos a la tienda de Bridge Road en Stockton-on-Tees, alli pongo el aceite faltante y seguimos por la A19 hacia el norte. Aparicio quiere ver la costa y hacemos una parada de descanso en Newbiggin-by-the-sea. Cuando volvemos al estacionamiento, hay una pareja de admiradores tomando fotos de las motos. Definitivamente, estas motocicletas de epoca atraen much atencion./We arrive at the store on Bridge Road in Stockton-on-Tees, there I add the needed oil and we continue heading north on the A19. Aparicio wants to see the coast and we make a rest stop in Newbiggin-by-the-sea. When we return to the parking lot, there is a couple taking photographs of the motorcycles. Definitely, these vintage bikes attract a lot of attention.

Proseguimos por la A1068 hasta Alnwick, pasando por Warkworth donde estan las ruinas de un impresionante castillo./ We take the A1068 to Alnwick and go through Warkworth, where there are the ruins of an impressive castle.

Tambien pasamos por caserios tan pequeños que ni aparecen en ViaMichelin y algunos de los cuales tienen nombres simpaticos y sugestivos./We also go through villages so small that they do not show in ViaMichelin; some of them have funny and suggestive names.

Nuestra intencion es seguir hacia Berwick a lo largo de la costa, pero en Alnwick tomamos la ruta equivocada sin darnos cuenta. La carretera es divertida y se presta bien para un paseo en moto, asi que seguimos sin preocuparnos. Al final paramos y vemos que nos hemos desviado bastante en la direccion opuesta. Sin embargo, estamos cerca de la A68 y resolvemos seguir hacia Jedburgh./ Our intention was to go to Berwick folllowing the coast but in Alnwick we take the wrong road without realizing it. The road is nice and well suited for motorcycles so we keep going and enjoy ourselves. When we finally stop, we realize that we have drifted significantly in the wrong direction. However, we are close to the A68 and decide to go towards Jedburgh instead.

Tomamos la A68 hacia la frontera con Escocia y paramos justo antes de cruzar para tomar un refrigerio y llamar algunos hoteles en Jedburgh. Rapidamente encontramos habitacion en el "Spread Eagle" donde nos dicen podemos estacionar las motos en lugar seguro./ We take the A68 towards the Scottish border and make a stop just before crossing to have a snack and call hotels in Jedburgh. We quickly find a room at the "Spread Eagle" where they inform us we can park the motorcycles in a safe place.

Finalmente llegamos a Jedburgh, llenamos los tanques y encontramos el hotel. El propietario es amable y nos permite estacionar en el patio interno. Luego de cambiarnos de ropa, vamos rapidamente a buscar algo de comer pues los restaurantes paran de servir a las 20:00. Inicialmente no tenemos suerte pero al final encontramos puesto en Carters donde Aparicio se come un ribeye de angus escoces y yo un cordero acompañado de haggis. Buen final para un dia entretenido./ Finally, we make it to Jedburgh, we fill the tanks and find our way to the hotel. The owner is nice and allows us to park the bikes in the inner courtyard. After changing clothes we rush to find dinner because restaurants stop serving at 20:00. Initially we have no luck but in the end we find a place at Carters where Aparicio eats a scottish angus ribeye and I go for the lamb topped with haggis. Good ending for a fun-filled day.
