El paseo a Escocia - septimo dia/Ride to Scotland - seventh day

Nos levantamos y desayunamos en el albergue Greystones. Anne se ha ido a trabajar, asi que Mark nos prepara un excelente desayuno y luego de revisar las motos nos despedimos y salimos hacia Inverness./ We get up and have breakfast at the Greystones B&B. Anne has left for work so Mark prepares for us an excellent breakfast. After checking the bikes, we say farewell and leave for Inverness,

Siguiendo la A9, llegamos a Inverness e inmediatamente tomamos la B862, tambien llamada "Sendero del Loch Ness". Es una via paralela al lago del lado este y poco usada debido a que es muy estrecha. De hecho, es una calle de una sola via con ensanchamientos periodicos para que los vehiculos que van en direccion contraria puedan apartarse. Hay que poner mucha atencion ya que hay bastantes curvas ciegas. De este lado, la vista del lago comienza al llegar a la localidad de Dores, donde paramos en el Dores Inn para almorzar./We follow the A9 to Inverness and immediately afterwards we take the B 862 also called "Loch Ness Trail". It is a road that runs parallel to the lake on the east side and has less traffic because it is very narrow; in fact it is a one-lane road with periodic wiednings so that vehicles travelling in opposite directions can let each other pass. It demands a lot of attentions because there a good number of blind curves. On this side the views of the lake begin after reaching Dores, where we stop at the Dores Inn for lunch.

No vimos monstruos pero si una pitufa./Did not see any monsters but came across a smurf.

Continuamos siempre a lo largo del lago, las vistas son realmente impresionantes; luego de la localidad de Foyers, la carretera se aparta del lago y se adentra en la montaña y vuelve a tocar el extremo sur del Loch Ness en Fort Augustus./We continue along the lake; the views are really impressive. After the town of Foyers, the road goes inland through the mountains and then turns again and reaches the southern tip of the Loch Ness at Fort Augustus.

La parte montañosa de la B862 nos recuerda a los Andes venezolanos, la diferencia mas obvia es que no hay frailejones sino arbustos de heather./The mountainous part of the B 862 reminds us of the Venezuelan Andes, except for the fact that instead of frailejones there are heather bushes.

 

En Fort Augustus se acaba el Loch Ness y la carretera se convierte en la A82 que nos lleva hasta Spean Bridge a lo largo del Loch Lochy. De Spean Bridge nos vamos hasta Fort William, donde encontramos alojamiento en el West End Hotel. Como hemos almorzado copiosamente, tomamos una cena ligera. Elizabeth se va a dormir y Aparicio y yo nos quedamos en el bar un rato mas apreciando los meritos de la cidra Bulmers y el el whiskey local./The Loch Ness ends at Fort Augustus and the road becomes the A82, which we take to Spean Bridge along the Loch Lochy. From Spean Brideg we go to Fort William, where we find lodging at the West End Hotel. Since we had a big lunch, we eat a light dinner. Elizabeth goes to rest, while Aparicio and I stay at the bar a bit longer, appreciating the merits of Bulmers cider and the local whiskeys.
